Jamia adds Calicut to exam centres list after criticism

Removal of the Thiruvananthapuram centre had faced major backlash
A day after Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI) faced major criticism for removing Thiruvananthapuram—the only centre in South India—from its list of entrance test centres, the varsity's VC, Professor Mazhar Asif, on Saturday, said that Calicut, a city in Kerala, has been added to the list.
The removal of the centre had invited major criticism from many students and politicians on social media platforms. Instead, the university had added two test centres in North and Central India.
