Miss India finalist Pari Mirza's honest confession before her next leap, into the world of Kannada cinema as lead actor. Her journey has had many turns but she stays connected with Delhi.

- DIKSHA SINHA

AFTER captivating audiences as a model and becoming a Miss India finalist in 2010, Pari Mirza has taken another big leap—into the world of Kannada cinema with a film on the underworld, and her first as a lead actor. Directed by Sanjay Niranjan, the film hit screens in four languages, in Hindi as Bombay, as Mawaali in Marathi, in Telugu as Gaayam and as Mandya in Kannada, underscoring the movie's pan-India appeal. Mirza has had cameo parts in Bollywood films as well.

On being selected for the movie, she says: "The character I'm playing is of a gangster's girlfriend. I had to do a lot of shoots with revolvers."
