India's criminal justice system to be most modern, says Shah
The Morning Standard
|October 14, 2025
UNION Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday described the implementation of the three new criminal laws-the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA)-as a historic reform and the biggest overhaul of India's criminal justice system in the 21st century.
Addressing a state-level exhibition at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) showcasing the shift in India's criminal justice system from a punitive approach to one focused on justice and transparency, Shah described the three new laws as the foundation of a modern, transparent and efficient justice delivery system. The Home Minister said the reforms introduced under PM Narendra Modi's leadership will transform India's judicial framework.
