Don't all Majors have mixed doubles events? So why has this generated heat?
Yes, all Majors do have. But this event is going to be a one-off—or a look at the potential future—in this particular format. Instead of regular pairings, the two-day event will feature a number of top-ranked singles players. To give a perspective, Carlos Alcaraz will be teaming up with Emma Raducanu. Yep, quite. All matches will take place before the main draw gets underway and they are scheduled to be held at Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong, the premises' two biggest courts.
