DoT issues show-cause notice to BSNL director after Prayagraj visit row

THE Department of Telecommunications has issued a showcause notice to BSNL Director Vivek Banzal after a row over the protocol assigned to him for a visit to Prayagraj.

The Minister of Communications, Jyotiraditya Scindia called the incident “shocking” and “beyond absurd”. He said that a showcause notice has been issued, to which he has to reply within seven days, after whichDoT will take appropriate action.
