'Cruel joke': Cong on cloud seeding

AS the capital battles hazardous air, the Congress slammed the Delhi government over its cloud seeding experiment to improve air quality, calling it a “cruel joke.” The party said getting a “slight improvement ina limited area for a day or two,” as claimed by the government, was meaningless.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said the Delhi government spent ₹34 crore on the winter cloud seeding experiment. He cited official data to point out that key agencies — the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCT, the Central Pollution Control Board, and the India Meteorological Department — had advised against such a measure.
