AFTER Union Minister of State Anupriya Patel's letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed concerns over declaring unfilled seats meant for reserved category candidates "unreserved" in government recruitment process, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has said that there was no provision of marking any post as "unreserved" or "not found suitable" in the appointment rule book if a reserved category aspirant failed to get minimum eligibility marks.

Centre, state not in sync? Anupriya flags bias in job quota, UP govt says not true

The Commission sent its reply to the state government, which forwarded it to the Union minister, also the president of NDA ally Apna Dal (S). Patel had created a flutter by writing to Adityanath drawing his attention to the complaints she claimed to be getting by the reserved category candidates that in the competitive exams in which recruitment was applied on the basis of interview, they were often declared "not found suitable" by the recruitment agency.
