Artificial lake spurs evacuation in U’khand valley

THE picturesque Yamuna Valley in Uttarakhand is on edge after a massive artificial lake formed near Syana Chatti, threatening widespread devastation.
The sudden influx of heavy debris and water from the Garhgad stream choked the Yamuna, leading to an alarming surge in water levels that submerged numerous homes and hotels. Authorities immediately evacuated around 255 people by Friday evening as the crisis deepened.
