Ferrel Govender remains behind bars as bail appeal fails

THE Durban High Court rejected Fer- rel Govender’s bail appeal, stating that it did not see fit to interfere with the deci- sion of the Durban Magistrate's Court, which denied him bail last month.
Security company boss Ferrel is accused with his brother, Darren, of the murder of Durban businessman Shailen Singh. According to the State, Ferrel accused Singh of having an affair with his girlfriend.
The State alleges that the duo killed Singh in uMhlanga’s Meridian Drive last December. Fourteen spent car- tridges were found at the crime scene. Darren is out on R200 000 bail.
Earlier this month, the Durban High Court heard the bail appeal of Ferrel and judgment was handed down on Thursday.
