AUSTRALIA'S Travis Head yesterday backed under-pressure opening partner Jake Weatherald to turn things around after an “extremely tough” start to his Test career in a dramatic Ashes series.

Weatherald made his debut in the opening Test against England in Perth, the latest in a line of players attempting to fill the void left by David Warner's retirement two years ago.
None have yet secured the spot, with Weatherald the latest to struggle.
The aggressive left-hander has scored 146 runs at an average of 20.85 across eight innings, almost half coming from his 72 at the second Test in Brisbane.
