Home is... Hackney. I don't know if it's because it's closer to Manchester on a subconscious level, but I've always lived north of the river.

Where was your first flat in London?

My first flat was on Camden Road. I was 21, so it was a proper party time for me. It was absolutely disgusting. My friend sent me some pictures of it recently and I said, "Oh, where's that?" He said: "Your flat." I was like: "Oh." Cleaning was not high on the list when I was 21. I spray painted my walls.

What was your first job?

My first job was at MTV in Camden. That's what I moved to London for, and I was the assistant in MTV's international creative department. I was quite a bad intern... I was just not very career savvy, shall we say. Looking back it's actually crazy, but I also think everyone was crazy. I was months into the job and my boss, Bernie, said something like, "Oh, have you got the tapes?" And I said: "What are tapes?" And she said: "This is a huge part of your job, looking after the tapes." I should have been doing that every day. We would genuinely go to the pub every night. The whole of MTV would and we'd see all sorts of people. Amy Winehouse. Razorlight. Kasabian. Noel Fielding. It felt like everyone was in that same pub. We all behaved like we were rock stars, and we weren't.

Where would you recommend for a first date?
