On Wednesday night, at the grand old age of 45 apiece, Mr C. and I attended our first ever music festival.
It was the Come Together Festival on the Town Moor in Newcastle.
There was no parking, so we ended up somewhere in urban Fenham and trotted our way back to common land, along with thousands of other people, many who were keen to kill time by sharing the proud history of the moor.
“You can graze your cow on here for free you know,’ advised one gentleman.
“Sir, that's no cow, that's my wife!” was apparently the response my husband felt appropriate for the occasion.
And May he Rest In Peace, just as soon as I have a rock solid alibi...
As we progressed through the fields and he continued to chew the cud with strangers, I did some people-watching.
The first thing I noticed was the everyone was in their 40s or 50s.
The second was how very sensibly they were attired.
None of those Coachella-type floaty dresses and impractical headgear.
