Support for test centre to reopen

SOUTH Tyneside councillors have thrown their support behind a campaign to reopen the borough’s former driving test centre (DTC).

The South Shields DTC, situated in Jarrow’s Bede Industrial Estate, was shut down in 2022 as part of a scheme to amalgamate it with Sunderland's Driving Test Centre.
