Sentencing delayed on driver who caused crash

A PERSONAL trainer who caused a major crash on the Al which landed several police officers in hospital has seen his sentencing delayed due to a dispute over his driving record.

Mazyar Azarbonyad caused the smash when he failed to stop, leaving five police cars wrecked and seven officers in need of hospital treatment.
The 20-year-old, who was on a first date at the time, admitted dangerous driving following the crash just south of the Denton Roundabout.
He had first evaded police in the Swalwell area of Gateshead before speeding onto the A1 in his powerful BMW, where the major collision occurred.
