Residents’ wish granted as council adopts estate

NEWCASTLE North MP Catherine McKinnell has said she is “delighted” after the city council officially adopted a 500-home Great Park estate.

The responsibility for the maintenance and repairs of the roads on the Melbury estate in the popular suburb is now with Newcastle City Council.
The council has confirmed that all signatures were complete on the dedication agreements at the end of last week, which means that the whole of the Melbury area has now been adopted.
