COUNCIL chiefs are expected to approve an investigation into whether small homes of multiple occupancy (HMOs) throughout North Tyneside are damaging neighbourhoods.

North Tyneside Council's cabinet has been recommended to sign-off the “gathering of evidence” on the effects of HMOs in local streets. If approved, the findings of the probe may result in the council limiting the number of such residences through planning control.
