Preparations for another pandemic

HEALTH officials in Northumberland have developed a new pandemic response time following the coronavirus crisis.

It comes following assessments that the likelihood of anew pandemic in the next five years is as high as 15% according to the National Risk Register.

The plan looks to ensure Northumberland County Council is as “prepared as possible” for a future pandemic. It includes a clear process for “activation and escalation’, as well as the governance and “command and control structure” of the council during a pandemic.
