A ROYAL Navy crewman who went missing off the coast of Ireland has been named.

Royal Navy seaman James Elliott, 26

Seaman James Elliott, 26, from Northumberland, was declared missing on Saturday near County Donegal.

Mirror Online reports how the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Tidesurge crew member was last seen at about 10.30pm on Friday.

A large-scale multi-agency search was launched on Saturday morning after the Irish Coast Guard received a distress call from a UK naval support vessel.
