Leader vows to tackle figures on life chances

CITY leaders want to “get under the skin” of an alarming report claiming that Newcastle's poorest young people have the worst life chances in England.

Analysis released by the Sutton Trust earlier this month ranked the Newcastle Central and West constit uency bottom of its Opportunity Index and outlined stark differences in Tyneside youngsters’ prospects compared to those growing up in London.
