Kitchen fitter stole over £3,000 from customer

A KITCHEN fitter befriended a customer then stole £3,000 she'd given him for new windows.

Robert Trotter had been doing work at the victim’s Ponteland home and she trusted him to seek out a company to replace a patio door and window.

A price was agreed and the woman gave Trotter a deposit of £1,525, which was half of the total amount. A court heard that the 44-year-old later said the goods were ready and the rest of the balance was due, which the victim paid to him.
