Is it all over now?
The Journal
|November 01, 2025
FINALLY it has all come tumbling down for the former Prince Andrew, former Duke of York, former holder of a place in the nation’s affections (though not for many years now.)
-
The King has done the right thing in stripping Andrew of his remaining titles and forcing his removal from the massive Berkshire mansion he was enjoying at a peppercorn rent.
The humiliation will be great for the new Mr Mountbatten Windsor, but it’s not as bad as it could have been. One former friend, Ghislaine Maxwell, is in jail. Another, Jeffrey Epstein, died in jail six years ago.
We'll never know if Andrew was the gormless dupe of a master manipulator, a man too dense to see what was happening right in front of him - or something much worse, a sexual abuser.
The King and the Royal Family will now hope that Andrew, exiled to Norfolk, drops out of the headlines.
But it may be a vain hope.
HERE was a grimly amusing moment this week when Nigel Farage tried to make a big announcement and instead had to deal with questions over something daft that one of his MPs had said.
