Heritage railway's celebrity bear special event

FANS of a much loved bear might want to pack their marmalade sandwiches and head to a railway station in the North East this year.

The station is set to play host to a special service that will give people the chance to meet Paddington himself.

It was back in 1958 that the character made his first appearance on screen in Michael Bond's tale A Bear Called Paddington. Since then, the famous travelling bear from Peru has gone on to to feature in 29 books.
