Heed confidence high despite poor run - Butterfield

GATESHEAD player-assistant manager Jacob Butterfield has revealed confidence remains high in the Heed camp despite their recent dismal run of form.

Alun Armstrong's men went into a home doubleheader with FC Halifax Town and Hartlepool United hoping to lay the foundations for an improved run of form after four games without a win.

However, the Heed emerged without a point after suffering narrow defeats in both games and are now lying just two points and three places above the National League relegation zone ahead of today’s visit to Braintree Town.

The hosts are also struggling to find form after winning just three of 11 league games this season and they lie one point and one place behind Armstrong's men.
