LIVELY winger Romaine Mundle impressed from the word go as Sunderland started their preseason campaign with a confident win against South Shields.

The 22-year-old netted in the 4-0 win along with Wilson Isidor, Milan Aleksic and Ahmed Abdullahi and he spoke of the positive energy around the club which has built during the first week back in training.
"It's been a really good week," Mundle told safc.com.
"You always look forward to coming back in, seeing the lads, getting the boots back on.
"There's a great energy already - the new boys have fitted in well and everyone's come back in the right mindset."
