Global demand glowing for aurora adventures

NEWCASTLE-BASED Northern Lights company is targeting a £10m turnover after sending more than 3,000 guests to Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

Aurora Zone, based in Ouseburn, is capitalising on the solar cycle maximum occurring in 2025 and into 2026, which has led to dramatic light displays, some even hitting North East England.

Amy Hope, managing director of The Artisan Travel Company, which operates Aurora Zone, said: “The sights we've seen in the UK have definitely whetted the appetite for people to see stronger displays abroad. Around 80% of our guests are from the UK but the global market is growing for us.

“Last year was a big year for the US and we see that increasing, along with parts of Asia. We want to see a turnover of £10m within the next three years.”
