Flavour of things to come from City event
The Journal
|August 02, 2025
FOODIES were given a taste of things to come as a vibrant food and entertainment showcase event was held in the heart of Newcastle.
Ahead of the much-loved NE1 Resturant Week, the business improvement body hosted NE1 Newcastle Restaurant Week Live, in partnership with Tyne and Wear Metro, for the first time.
The event brought the flavours, energy, and buzz of Restaurant Week, out of the city's participating restaurants and onto a popup stage in Grainger Street in the heart of the city for everybody to enjoy.
Restaurant Week runs from Monday until Saturday (Aug 10) and people were on Thursday given a mouthwatering preview of what's to come.
Featuring 120 participating venues - a welcome mix of longstanding favourites alongside newer venues in the city - Restaurant Week will celebrate the very best of Newcastle's thriving and eclectic eating out scene.
Before that free, live, interactive cookery demonstrations, were the order of the day at NE1 Restaurant Week Live, organised to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Newcastle Restaurant Week.
