Fans' terrace chant was music to my ears, admits Magpies star

NEWCASTLE United defender Malick Thiaw has revealed he will ‘never forget’ the moment he first heard his chant being sung from the terraces, writes SEAN McCORMICK.

Thiaw has been one of the Magpies’ best summer signings since his completing his £34.6million move from AC Milan and has already established himself as a key player under Eddie Howe.

The 24-year-old has become a fans’ favourite, too, and his chant, an adaptation of the Italian folk song ‘Bella Ciao’, is now a regular fixture on the St James’ Park terraces.
