Drive to be the best still Burning in Dan

DAN Burn has always set out to “do more” than any centreback who joins Newcastle United - and that is not about to change this summer.

Newcastle have signed Sven Botman and Lloyd Kelly since Burn moved to St James’ Park in January 2022 and the club also attempted to bring in Marc Guehi and Tosin Adarabioyo last year.

However, those moves have only spurred Burn on. In fact, no one played more minutes for Newcastle than Burn last season as the Geordie enjoyed the campaign of his life.

Kelly, who left for Juventus, was ultimately afforded just one league start in his favoured role at left-sided centre-back and that was only because the in-form Burn was suspended.
