CITY'S PIZZA EXPRESS HAS SHUT DOWN

THE Newcastle city centre branch of Pizza Express has closed permanently this week in more bad news for the local hospitality trade.

The restaurant in Newcastle's Eldon Square has confirmed that it shut it doors for good on Monday, following on from a spate of city-centre restaurant and pub closures earlier this year.
Pizza Express opened in the shopping centre in 2013, over two floors of the mall, and proved an enduring favourite for years with its menu of Italian staples.
