MORE than 300 exceptional Newcastle women came together to celebrate community and culture for an event at the Civic Centre that saw artist YolanDa Brown presented with the Freedom of the City.
Newcastle City Council marked International Women's Day with a powerful and vibrant celebration. Attendees were treated to performances and speeches from some of the region's most influential and celebrated women.
Friday's event was hosted by Charlie Charlton, wellknown North East advocate and journalist. The audience ranged from college students to community organisations.
Artist YolanDa Brown is a double MOBO Award-winning artist, broadcaster, and advocate for music education.
