SUNDERLAND head into the final game of the Championship knowing the clash with QPR today is as much about putting in a performance ahead of the play-offs to build momentum, as it is coming through unscathed.

Momentum has been the buzz word in the last few weeks, with some questioning does form even matter?

The Black Cats will find out their play-off opponents this weekend with Bristol City, Coventry City, Millwall, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough all vying for a place in one of the remaining two play-off spots.

Regis Le Bris’ side spent the first part of this week in Portugal for a warm weather training camp in an attempt to change the scenery after a disappointing run of four defeats on the bounce.

The Journal has taken a look at what's going on in and around the Academy of Light ahead of the clash with QPR.

MOMENTUM AND FORM

Fresh from a trip to Portugal, Le Bris was in good spirits at his pre-match press conference. The French head coach admitted that this period has been a strange one for him as he rotated his side in an attempt to get as many players fit as possible for the play-offs.
