LEAD coach for Sunderland U18s Jordan Moore hailed his young squad in Saturday's "challenging, physical and feisty" 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.

Joe Neild's penalty six minutes into stoppage time rescued a point for the young Black Cats in the Tees-Wear derby, after Lucas Harrison gave the hosts the lead at Rockliffe.

Post-match, Moore spoke positively about the side’s performance and highlighted their resilience to equalise late on.

He told safc.com: “We played some really good football, and it felt like a typical derby game.

“It was challenging, physical and feisty at times, but I thought the lads really stood up to it.
