Blue Star relishing facing another tough test in the Cup
-
NEWCASTLE Blue Star manager Marc Nash is relishing another “big occasion" as his side prepare to host National League North club Marine today.
The FA Cup has provided a real highlight in what has been a challenging start to the season for Nash's injury-hit squad after they came through three difficult tests in previous rounds to secure a place in the second qualifying round.
A2-0 win at Nash's former club North Shields kickstarted the run before a pair of shock victories against Northern Premier League East clubs Newton Aycliffe and Heaton Stannington took Blue Star into the second qualifying round for the first time since the club reformed.
