In our daily hustle and bustle, it's easy to overlook the importance of staying hydrated.

Yet, dehydration — the condition that arises when the body loses more fluids than it takes in — is more than just a matter of thirst. It is a significant health risk that can affect people of all ages, and if left untreated, may lead to serious complications.

Water is essential for nearly every bodily function: regulating temperature, aiding digestion, transporting nutrients, and eliminating waste. When the body loses too much fluid whether due to intense physical activity, excessive sweating, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, or simply not drinking enough water — it cannot function properly. This imbalance leads to dehydration.

The condition is broadly classified into three levels: mild, moderate, and severe. Mild and moderate dehydration can usually be corrected by increasing fluid intake, but severe dehydration is a medical emergency that requires immediate attention.

Dehydration affects both the body and mind. The symptoms may start subtly, but their consequences can be serious:

Physical Fatigue:

Dehydration reduces blood volume, causing the heart to work harder to pump blood. This results in fatigue, weakness, and decreased physical performance.
