Irvine Cricket Club were handily beaten as they got their Western District Cricket Union Premiership Two season off to a disappointing start.

At home to West of Scotland, the visitors batted first and kept the scoreboard ticking along on their way to posting 268-9 from their allotted 50 overs.
Shaheen Barham was the pick of the Irvine bowlers with figures of 3-37 from nine overs.
