Nine passengers suffer life-threatening injuries, say police
Two people have been arrested after witnesses described seeing a man with a large knife following a mass stabbing on a train. Ten people have been taken to hospital with nine believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries, British Transport Police said. The attack occures on board the 6.25pm train service from Doncaster to London King's Cross shortly after the train departed Huntingdon.
Armed police attended Huntingdon station after Cambridgeshire Constabulary were called at 7.39pm yesterday, with more than 30 officers despatched to the scene.
Sir Keir Starmer described the incident as "deeply concerning" and urged people to follow police advice.
Witnesses have spoken of seeing a man with a large knife and passengers hiding in the toilets to escape the rampage, The Times reported.
One told the paper there was "blood everywhere" and people were getting "stamped" on by others as they tried to flee.

Will I pass through EES when I transfer in Madrid?
Q I am travelling from Manchester to Bogota via Madrid. I arrive in Madrid on Iberia at 9.50pm. I depart Madrid on Avianca at 1.20am. Do I still have to do the EES thing as I am only at the airport? If I do, I hope that will be enough time.

Is this a Farage ploy to bring forward the general election?
It was probably very foolish of me to expect that Nigel Farage was going to live up to the billing and, with his latest speech, unveil a properly prepared economic and fiscal programme for a Reform UK administration that would actually reassure people that he and his party are ready for government. True to form, of course, he unveiled no such thing.
