POLICE CHIEF SLAMS 'DISGRACEFUL' SCENES AFTER TERRIERS MATCH

- By ANDREW ROBINSON

FIVE men have been jailed for their roles in “disgraceful” disorder in Huddersfield town centre following a Town match.

The five have been sent to prison for affray for their involvement in serious disorder on John William Street and St George's Square in Huddersfield on October 29 2022 following a game between Huddersfield Town and Millwall.

A sixth man received a suspended prison sentence.

Shouting, disorderly behaviour and physical violence broke out between rival fans just after 5.20pm as they made their way to the train station, West Yorkshire Police said.

Officers made a number of arrests following the incident which involved a crowd of up to 100 people, police said.

Six Kirklees men have now received Football Banning Orders, with five of them also jailed, for their roles in serious disorder following the match, which Town won 1-0.
