HOW 'STRANGE MOOR' PRODUCES TOUGH PEOPLE WHO CAN COPE WITH BLEAK WEATHER

- By ANDREW ROBINSON

Life in picture perfect family village

IT’S handy for the M62 and the M1, has a rural vibe and is described as the ‘perfect’ place to raise a family.

Some people have lived in Grange Moor, near Huddersfield, for decades and recall when it was a mining village, while others are new and love the sense of community.

Villager Danny Speight described Grange Moor as ‘beautiful’ and a great place to raise a family.

“It’s perfect,” he said. “I couldn’t imagine any where else to raise a family. It is peaceful with a really strong sense of community, from the primary school down to the local parish church.

“We did consider moving years ago but we love the village so much. It’s handy for the M1 and M62; the perfect location for motorway access.”
