COUNCIL WANTS TO TURN THE GRADE II LISTED PROPERTY INTO APARTMENTS
KIRKLEES Council is offering a remarkable chance to purchase and redevelop the historically important Estate Buildings in Huddersfield town centre.
The council's ambition is to see the landmark Grade II* listed property converted into a flourishing residential destination, establishing an aspirational living space within the town centre. The goal is to deliver high quality, attractive and generously proportioned homes in Huddersfield that foster a strong sense of place and community.
A developer was lined up and had entered into an agreement to transform the building. But as we reported last year that company later backed out and the council was left looking at attracting a new development partner.
This proposal forms part of the council's blueprint, a masterplan for Huddersfield, and the Town Centre Living Plan designed to create a housing proposition that draws new residents to the town centre.
