SENIOR COUNCILLORS ASKED TO APPROVE POWERS FOR ACCESS ROUTE
SENIOR Calderdale councillors will be asked to approve compulsory purchase powers to secure land related to creating access routes to the new rail station to be built at Elland.
Better connections to the proposed new £25 million Elland Rail Station are planned as part of an 'access package' including two pedestrian and cycle bridges crossing the River Calder and the Calder and Hebble Navigation, and improvements to pedestrian routes, public spaces and the cycle network.
The access package will cost around £10-11 million, West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) transport committee has heard.
