FRESH BREAK-IN AT CENTRE DUE TO OPEN IN SEPTEMBER

Yobs attack nursery after arson incidents

POLICE are understood to be investigating a second break-in at a Plymstock day nursery set to open in September, which has already been the victim of arsonists.

In April, the directors of Bright Beams nursery in Billacombe Road were targeted by yobs who broke in, smashed up radiators and pipes and set a series of small fires inside the property. The co-directors explained that they were renovating the business space in preparation for it to open as a nursery this coming September.

This incident came in the wake of other worrying crimes in nearby Saltram Meadow where a housing development by building firm Persimmon admitted they had recorded "several break-ins in the days leading up to the April 7 attack on the nursery, including a suspected arson incident.
