BUT SCHEME HAS NO PARKING FOR RESIDENTS
TALKS are underway to find cash needed to pay for construction of Plymouth’s £33.5m waterfront “boulevard” housing development.
Work must start before the end of 2026 on a project to build 136 homes - but with just 26 parking spaces - on the former car park in Martin Street, Millbay.
Planning permission was granted in late 2023 for the new “eco-friendly” neighbourhood, sand-wiched between Martin Street and Bath Street, which includes" affordable" homes, communal gardens, play areas, a convenience store and a cafe. But the development, part of a much-heralded “boulevard” vision for the area, is also being badged as “car free” and it is hoped it will attract “non-car-users” to live in it.
