TRP TO STAGE POPULAR SHOW IN 2026

Roald Dahl's Matilda to make a musical return

A HIT production of the Roald Dahl favourite Matilda is coming to Plymouth - but fans will have to wait until 2026 to see it in the city.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's smash-hit production of Matilda The Musical will embark on its second major tour of the UK and Ireland, starting in October 2025 with Theatre Royal Plymouth among the destinations.

But the internationally renowned musical, which continues to play to packed houses in the West End - is not arriving at TRP until January 13, 2026.

The show is celebrating its 15-year anniversary when it opens at Leicester Curve, before travelling to Bradford, Liverpool, Plymouth, Sunderland, Edinburgh and Manchester, where it will run through March and April of 2026.

Still playing at the West End's Cambridge Theatre, the show has been seen by 12 million people across 100 cities around the world.
