AS Raiders rush headlong into the final flurry of games in the race for this year's National Division 2 title, the stage was set last Sunday as the City side in second, took on third placed Bath in a must win encounter at The Life Centre.

It was however the action over on the South Coast just hours earlier on Saturday night which somewhat cast a shadow over events. League leaders and currently unbeaten Gloucester City Kings faced arguably one of their sternest tests on paper against a Portsmouth team that were the last realistic bastion between Kings and Raiders heading for a final league day showdown.

Force however couldn’t do Raiders the favour they so desperately needed and capitulated 49-77 after a 3rd quarter collapse. Kings now have a straight march towards to the title.

So onto Sunday and the action shifted back to Plymouth and Raiders who have a 50/50 record against Bath in recent seasons, won two lost two.
