Princess tells of 'huge shock' of cancer diagnosis

The Princess of Wales last night revealed she is fighting cancer.

In a dramatic statement issued at 6pm, the Princess revealed that her abdominal surgery in January had been successful - but that tests later revealed cancer was present.
The news comes just weeks after the King revealed he was being treated for cancer that had also been spotted following an operation.
The Princess issued a lengthy statement in which she thanked her husband, Prince William, and asked for space and privacy while she continues her treatment. She has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy and said she was in the early stages of her treatment.
