New music festival set to rock Plymouth this summer

TOP ACTS HAVE ALREADY CONFIRMED FOR THE THREE-DAY RUCKUS MUSIC, FOOD AND BEER FESTIVAL
A MAJOR new music festival is set to rock Plymouth this summer and is planned to become an annual event. Top acts including The Feeling, The Specials and former Kasabian front-man Tom Meighan are already confirmed for the three-day Ruckus music, food and beer spectacular.
More groups, including one very popular band, are due to be added soon. And there will be two showcases staged before the festival where Plymouth acts can audition, the best ones being chosen to perform at the main event.
The Ruckus Festival will be held on July 4, 5 and 6 at Plymouth Albion's Brickfields stadium. Thousands of people are expected to attend and discounted early-bird tickets are on sale now until mid-April.
The festival was created by rugby clubs Plymouth Albion and Devonport Services and will celebrate the former's 150th anniversary. But there are already plans to stage another festival next year.
It will also feature a craft beer and food festival and money raised from the whole event will go to three charities: the Star Scheme, which helps young people and their families recover from trauma; the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, and St Luke’s Hospice. It will also support community facilities at the rugby clubs.
