COMMANDOS WILL RETRACE STEPS OF PREDECESSORS

PLYMOUTH-BASED Royal Marine Commandos have been training on the beaches of East Cornwall, prior to taking part in next month’s D-Day 80th anniversary commemoration events in Normandy.
Based at RM Tamar, at HMNB Devonport, the Royal Marines from 47 Commando Raiding Group remain the UK’s specialist in amphibious operations, fully capable of all waterborne operations, training regularly on the rivers and beaches of the South West.
As well as operating specialist boats and craft, the Royal Marines pride themselves on training their landing craft (LC) crews to operate all their raiding and landing craft.
