BUT THEIR TROPHY TIE WILL NOT TAKE PLACE ON TUESDAY

- By CHRIS ERRINGTON

PLYMOUTH Argyle have finally found out who their opponents will be in the Vertu Trophy quarterfinals and it will be Luton Town not Swindon Town who will host them.

Swindon have been removed from the competition and fined £40,000, of which £20,000 will be suspended until the end of next season, after fielding two ineligible players in their 2-1 win at Luton in the round of 16 last month.

Argyle will play Luton at Kenilworth Road in the quarterfinals, but not on Tuesday, February 10 as was scheduled after they made a request for a delay.

That was because of the lack of preparation time for Tom Cleverley, his coaches and the Pilgrims' players and also for the Green Army to be able to make plans for the trip to Bedfordshire.
