Henderson frustrated by inconsistent Lambs
The Herald
|March 29, 2024
TAVISTOCK manager Stuart Henderson was left cursing the 'Jekyll and Hyde' nature of his team as they fought back to claim a thrilling 3-3 Southern League Division One South draw with Larkhall Athletic at a snowy Langsford Park on Wednesday night.
After a perfect start, which saw the outstanding Alfie Cunningham give them the lead, kamikaze defending led to Larkhall storming into a 3-1 lead with just 23 minutes on the clock and effectively cost Tavi any chance of winning the contest.
However, they showed great character to claw their way back and earn a point after goals from Alex Battle and Joe O'Loughlin before the game finished slightly prematurely amid a wild snowstorm on the edge of the moors.
"The boys have got lots of charac- ter and this is what frustrates Darren (Spong) and I," Henderson said. "We are a young side, but it's that inconsistency. We played really well against Malvern, we did well on Saturday (at Cribbs) and then tonight, you see the other side in the first 45 minutes
"Defending-wise, we were a shambles and it wasn't good enough and that is what we told them at halftime. Then you see the other side of us in the second half, it is so Jekyll and Hyde.
