Freeport construction projects are underway

BUILDINGS are starting to take shape at Plymouth’s £8 million tax-break freeport site off the A38.

The steel frames for the initial purpose-built commercial units within the Plymouth and South Devon (PASD) Freeport are now up, and work is powering ahead on the site that is designed to be home to high-growth industries.

Plymouth City Council is delivering four units on a plot at Beaumont Way, Langage - one of three freeport tax sites, earmarked for the marine, defence, space, advanced manufacturing, engineering and clean energy sectors. Devon Contractors, which has only been on site since December, is building units which range in size from 750 square metres to just over 2,000sqm.

The roof cladding is now on three of the four units and the first internal floors have been installed in all of them. External drainage work is almost complete and internal drainage work is progressing well.
